Invention Description/ Abstract:
LautLink is a web-based operations workbench that helps logistics staff select eligible empty containers and combine compatible customer shipments into shared load plans. Its two core functions are Container Reuse and Cargo Consolidation. Reuse records a container's source, unloading confirmation and permission for the current task; consolidation can also use ordinary yard inventory.
Linked 2D and 3D views show container locations, cargo layouts and space utilisation. Guided steps connect shipment entry, matching, reservation, cargo receipt, loading and sealing. Planned utilisation remains separate from actual recorded loading. LautLink aims to make space planning easier to understand and support informed use of existing capacity. The current competition prototype uses clearly labelled simulated data.
Invention Technical Description
LautLink uses React, TypeScript and Vite, with Three.js and React Three Fiber for interactive 3D visualisation. Its data model separates Shipments, Containers and Load Plans. LCL plans combine multiple customers' shipments in one container, while FCL plans remain limited to one customer. Each shipment can belong to only one active plan.
Rule-based checks cover loading site, destination, timing, cargo compatibility, weight, dimensions, door clearance and stacking. A geometric packing heuristic supports up to six cargo groups with different carton sizes, permitted upright rotation and simplified stacking. The 2D and 3D cargo views use the same carton-placement data. Utilisation is calculated from dimensions and quantities, with planned and actual loading tracked independently.
Business rules enforce Draft, Confirmed, Loading and Sealed stages. Loading requires valid permission, reservation, container readiness and cargo receipt. Starting loading locks the order combination and layout; sealing prevents further editing. Records persist locally in the browser. The prototype supports regular non-hazardous dry cartons. Live tracking, server synchronisation and certified load-safety assessment are outside its scope.
