Invention Description/ Abstract:
Flood Intelligence is an IoT-based flood early warning and decision support system that monitors rising water levels using three physical water-level sensors. An ESP32 microcontroller processes the sensor data and determines the current water-level condition and flood risk. The information is displayed in real time through a Web-Based IoT Dashboard, while Telegram notifications provide remote warnings when predefined risk conditions are reached. The system integrates real-time sensing, embedded processing, wireless communication, web monitoring, and decision support to improve flood awareness and response.
Invention Technical Description
The system uses an ESP32 as the main controller with three discrete water-level sensors positioned at LOW, MEDIUM, and HIGH levels. The sensors are connected to GPIO25, GPIO26, and GPIO27 and operate using an input pull-up configuration. The ESP32 continuously monitors the sensor states, identifies the highest active level, calculates the corresponding flood risk, and records water-level transitions. The processed data is transmitted through Wi-Fi to an ESP32-hosted Web-Based IoT Dashboard for real-time monitoring. When a predefined warning condition is detected, the ESP32 communicates with the Telegram Bot API to deliver a remote flood warning. The system therefore provides an integrated sensor-to-decision-to-alert architecture for flood monitoring and early warning.
